Pei Chen Tea Palace was founded in 2014 from a simple idea shared by Mei-Hsin Chen and Ryan Hollibaugh: to bring the richness of Asian tea culture to the Western world with honesty, rigor, and respect. What began as a small tea space in Buenos Aires has grown into one of the most active tea academies in the region: an ecosystem where learning, culture, and craftsmanship centered on tea come together.
Tea Education Rooted in Its Origins
At Pei Chen, we work directly with producers, artisans, and tea masters from across Asia, passing on their knowledge and techniques to our students through tea courses, workshops, cultural events, and field trips to the regions of origin. Our approach combines academic research with practical experience—Wulong, Heicha, Puer, GongFuChá—keeping the tea tradition alive and making it accessible to a modern audience.
